Make Up Review

Wow ok guys it’s been a while since I posted an entry, sorry about that. Ok so what the hell am I going to talk about this time? Well I was thinking the same exact thing! I have decided to talk about make up; more like a personal make up review. I have been were heavy amounts of make up since I was 14. But first let me give you some history on my skin.

I have had horrible acne since I was 10 years old. I was cursed with an oily pizza face really young. Over the years it got worse then now it’s finally getting better after 10 years. But I still have fairly moderate acne. Now this leads me into my first review!

Moisturizer! Ok, ok, I know what you might be thinking. “Why do you need moisturizer if your face is that oily?” Well you need moisturizer to help regulate the PH in your skin after you wash all that oil off. Now what is PH? PH stands for Potential Hydrogen. Why is this important? It is important because it measures acidity. If the acidity is too high or to low it can cause problems with your skin, such as being to dry or to oily.

For my skin I use Alba. All of the Alba products I’ve seen for your face and body are hypo-allergenic. (Hypoallergenic, meaning "below normal" or "slightly" allergenic, was a term first used in a cosmetics campaign in 1953.[1] It is used to describe items (especially cosmetics and textiles) that cause or are claimed to cause fewer allergic reactions.)- taken from Wikipedia.
I personally love the Alba aloe & green tea oil- free moisturizer. Rating=8/10
What I like about the product.
1. It’s hypo-allergenic. I truly believe that because I’ve switched to hypo-allergenic products, it has helped my acne subside.
2. It actually isn’t oily. Now when I first tried the product it had an oily feel when I first applied it. After the product dried, my face felt as if I never put anything on.
3. Its 100% vegetarian ingredients. Also there is no animal testing with Alba products.

Ok next on the list is Benefit products.
I like only two Benefit products.
1. Shellac my rating= 5/10- it is a great make up stay product. Back when I used to shave and draw on my eyebrows every day this is what I used. The major down side to the product is that is has a shine to it. So its kind obvious that you have painted something on your eyebrow to make them stay.
2. Stay Don’t Stray my rating= 9/10- this is my new favorite product! I love it, it actually dose what is says. This is for your eye shadows. I have been using this product for a couple days now. My eye make up now lasts all day. From the time I put it on in the morning to when I get home at night it still looks the same as it did that morning.

Well that’s it for now I have a few more products to review but these are my 3 Constants. I hope you like and enjoyed this post. And go out and try these products they are well worth it!

Ok well I won’t give any advice in how one should decorate their personal space into a “Gothic paradise”. But what I will do is do my best to give photos, links, and descriptions of my own personal style. Keep what you like discard what you don’t. Introducing ME!

I guess I should start this blog thing off right by introducing myself. My name is Amber Schatz. My last name is a little weird and everyone who hasn’t had any experience with the German language seems to have a hard time pronouncing it. So to help you, it’s pronounced like “shots” like getting a shot from the doctor. I am 20 almost 21 years old and I am an aspiring illustration artist. I am also currently in college to get my teaching degree. I love teaching people new things in and about art. So what better way to combine my some of my life passions than to be art teacher? Woot! Go Me! But I have many passions in life and I’m sure you do as well, my dear reader. So “why did you create this blog?” you may ask or maybe you’re wondering about my curious blog title. Well I shall elaborate for you. I live an alternative life style which is a fancy way of saying different. Mainly what that life style consists of is “gothic”, and I use the term “gothic” very lightly. But “Goth” isn’t just some little high school kids going through a phase in life. Some of those kids (like me) end up truly living an alternative life style. The decision to live this life comes with many stereotypes and discriminations. But for me it was a very easy decision to make. I was different from the moment I came into this life. When I was a kid I remember all the TV shows I would watch would be shows like Goosebumps, Tails from the Crept, Halloween specials with Elvira, Adams family, and the Munsters. And the only books that could get me to practice reading when I was a kid is a picture book based off the Munsters. There was even a time when I asked my father to buy me a spiked dog collar when I was 6 because I wanted to wear it as a necklace. I always wondered why the kids I grew up with didn’t like me and why it was so hard to make friends. Now days I contribute it to just being different and seeing things differently than most people do. I didn’t find acceptance with my self and other people till I became “gothic.” So I guess you can say the reasons for my creating this blog are to one: show what my alternative life and others who live this type of life style consist of. Two: to display what I consider being hard to find “gothic” items; ranging from home décor to fashion and anything else that could fall into that category. And third: to talk about the discrimination in “normal” world, things like job discrimination. Well I do hope this gives you a little bit of an insight to me, y world, and things to come.

Stay tuned for more blogging!
